Engineering

Ever since Alton Scott Newell designed the original shredder in 1945,the Newell family has been the leader in shredder design, production, and installation. At The Shredder Company we have the expertise and the experience to design the custom machine that will best suit your market.

Our engineers make use of the most advanced CAD software to digitally test new principles in Shredding theory and optimize casting design before the ink even hits the paper. A history of engineering excellence was what defined Newell in the past, and every day at The Shredder Company we focus our department to make it the most technologically advanced and efficient in the industry.

Designs go directly from the drawing table to the cutting table, where we make high quality patterns under the instruction of skilled wood artisans.

  • We are equipped to design and build new patterns from drawings or samples
  • Builds tooling, including patterns and core boxes for oil field, mining, marine, and other industrial applications

Metallurgical Lab Facility

Our facility is also equipped with a quality assurance lab, where wecan control the chemical composiition and granular layout of our castings to the extent modern technology allows. This system allows our castings to be accurate down to a single point of the desired range.
  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Processes molding sands to assure quality castings
  • Uses testing methods recognized by the American Foundry Society and in accordance with ASTM standards
  • These facilities allow us to check the molecular structure of products for absolute quality assurance. It is this methodology of absolute dedication to quality that leads to well-worn products like this:
